KRINKO tightens requirements – sporicidal reprocessing of wipe dispenser systems
Higher efficacy required for surface disinfection.
The German KRINKO commission is tightening its requirements for reprocessing reusable non-woven wipe dispenser systems. In its current recommendation on surface disinfection (Bundesgesundheitsbl 65, 1074–1115, 2022) the commission is unambiguous.
Non-woven wipe dispenser systems must in future be reprocessed with a suitable disinfection wipe – bactericidal, levurocidal, fungicidal and sporicidal.

What are DesiMops and what are they used for?
DesiMops are pre-soaked single-use disinfection mops for the combined cleaning and disinfection of floors, walls and large surfaces. They are ready to use, require no mixing or dosing, and are used in hospitals, operating rooms, care homes, medical practices, laboratories and emergency services, among others.
Which pathogens are DesiMops effective against?
DesiMops are bactericidal, fungicidal, mycobactericidal, limited virucidal PLUS, virucidal and sporicidal (including against C. difficile and norovirus). Efficacy is documented according to the relevant EN standards (EN 13727, EN 13624, EN 14476, EN 16615, EN 17126, EN 17845).
Are DesiMops a hazardous substance?
No. DesiMops are not classified as a hazardous substance in their ready-to-use concentration. They are based on peracetic acid / hydrogen peroxide technology and are low-odour and designed for high material compatibility.
Which size is right for my use case?
DesiMops S (25 × 13 cm) is suitable for small areas up to approx. 20 m². DesiMops M (42 × 13 cm) covers up to approx. 20 m² and is the standard for patient rooms and functional rooms. DesiMops L (42 × 13 cm) covers up to 35 m² per mop and is ideal for larger rooms such as corridors or operating rooms.
How are DesiMops disposed of correctly?
Used DesiMops are disposed of after single use via regular residual waste or according to your facility's disposal guidelines. Time-consuming reprocessing as with reusable mops is not required – this reduces the risk of germ transfer.
